Sand and Finish
Sand and Finish
The average job. A series of sandings to expose new wood and reveal the potential locked underneath years of wear, followed by stain and/or urethane of your choice. This process will generally address the average build up of dirt, fading, light wear, some stains or scratches. In this photo you see a "Red Oak" hardwood that has been fully sanded and finished with a natural tone urethane, which simply accentuates the natural character of the wood.
"Full Restoration"
"Full Restoration"
This is our most involved process. Restorations are the more aggressive side of "Sand and Finish" work. Some floors are seemingly beyond hope, they are covered in animal stains, water damage, severe gapping, fading, heavy scratches, and sometimes even paint. This process is the answer. No floor is exempt, we make the worst look like the best. In this picture the customer chose a stain to color the floor, the floor had been severely water damaged as the roof had caved in, but as you can see the end product appears no less beautiful than a new floor.
"Installation"
"Installation"
This is our most straightforward proccess. The basics of it are: The customer already has a wood in mind, we help them find it at a reasonable price and eventually install it. If you are not familiar with flooring variety, we have unlimited amount of options and sampes we are glad to share and discuss. We always help our customers get from point A to point B. We offer installation of unfinished, prefinished, laminates, engineered woods and of course solids. In this photo we installed a "Barnyard Pine", the customer found, a rare remilled wood that was made from a historical barns torn down in the midwest.
"Patchwork and Repair"
"Patchwork and Repair"
Sometimes water lines break, sometimes we drag a heavy object on the floor, and sometimes for any number of reasons a group of boards or a single board may need to be replaced. In that situation, a skilled floor worker can carefully remove old boards to replace and patch them in with new ones. Its that simple. In this photo there is a home with existing oak hardwood where damage occured to a group of boards, and just beyond it an edition with bare subfloor where carpet once was. We worked to install new wood to match in the edition. When we remove damaged boards we remove them at the seam to keep the pattern flowing once we replace it with new wood.
Staircase Restoration and Installation
Staircase Restoration and Installation
Just as the title states. We offer a very unique and detailed process of restoring staircases, whether its a historical spiral case, one stair, every stair, or the stairs, railings, side trim and all. We also replace or install staircases, from top to bottom. In this photo we replaced the treads and then refinished them, they started out brown, the customer chose a natural finish. We also painted the entire unit, and restored the railings, the customer chose to keep the spindles the original color.
